Summary: This study documents the first known round-trip migration of a pregnant bull
shark across more than 4,000 kilometres between Seychelles and Madagascar. Satellite
tagging revealed directed movement over open ocean and return to the natal area, indicating
navigational capability and reproductive homing behaviour. These findings challenge
assumptions about the spatial ecology of bull sharks and highlight the need for multinational
collaboration in conserving wide-ranging marine species whose life history strategies involve
large-scale movements and cross-jurisdictional habitat use.
